To put it mildly, John McAfee was a crazy guy. He led the kind of extraordinary existence that can only fully be imagined on film. He combines elements of Scarface’s Tony Montana, James Bond, and Indiana Jones.
Maybe he was actually a bad guy himself just like Tony Montana, but he led a wild life full of drugs, adventures, and killing people.
Prior to his supposed suicide, he warned everyone not to believe it because he would never do such a thing. But as time went on, we learned that he actually did commit suicide, or at least that’s what they say. He allegedly committed suicide because he couldn’t handle the stress of being in jail.
Well, now there is a wrench that has been thrown into that narrative as it’s being reported that he actually didn’t commit suicide, but instead faked his own death.
One woman who he once had a relationship with has said that McAfee actually called her after his “suicide”
“I don’t know if I should say, but two weeks ago, after his death, I got a call from Texas: ‘It’s me, John. I paid off people to pretend that I am dead, but I am not dead,’” Herrera says in a bombshell moment at the end of the documentary.
“[He said,] ‘There are only three persons in this world that knows I’m still alive.’ And then he asked me to run away with him.”
If this is true, it would be amazing. Nobody has lived the life that this man has. He really has lived a movie-like lifestyle that many would be envious of. I can’t say that I would because drugs, crime, and tons of women isn’t the sort of life that I would want. Maybe they’ll make a movie out of it someday though.
