The liberalization of students has been a topic at the college level for decades and has now spilled into the high school classroom. The situation has gotten so bad that an Ohio Mayor has been forced to step in and demand the resignation of an entire School Board.
Mayor Craig Shubert stepped into the discussion between School Board members and parents of students at Hudson High School.
The Mayor demanded every member of the School Board resign their position or face child pornography charges over an assignment given to students.
His message was very short and very direct:
“Members of the board, my name is Craig Shubert. I’m the mayor of this city. It has come to my attention that your educators are distributing essentially what is child pornography in the classroom. I’ve spoken to a judge this evening and she’s already confirmed that. So I’m going to give you a simple choice: either choose to resign from this board of education or you will be charged. Thank you.”
The writing prompts including sexual content like, “write a sex scene you wouldn’t show your mom,” and “rewrite the sex scene from above into one that you’d let your mom read.” It is not clear whether the assignment rises to the level of a crime, though Shubert relayed that a judge believed it did.
After Shubert’s stern message, parents attending the school board meeting cheered loudly.
The offensive assignment was read to the crowd at the School Board meeting to highlight its scandalous nature.
A parent, Monica Havens, shared the offensive material with the crowd at the meeting, which included several X-rated writing prompts. The writing prompts included, “write a sex scene you wouldn’t show your mom” and “Ten euphemisms for sex”.
The Principal of Hudson High School explained the school had not completed its due diligence before issuing the material to its students.
