Students at a Washington state high school had planned to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the September 11 terror attacks by wearing red, white, and blue.

The event was originally designed as a patriotic-themed game with an American flag being displayed prominently on field throughout gameplay, but it became controversial when some felt that its use could cause them offense due to their different viewpoints concerning America’s patriotism or support for those who died in this tragedy.

“At Eastlake High School in Sammamish, student leadership promoted a Patriot’s Day theme at a football game at Memorial Stadium against Rainier Beach. The game was previously canceled, then rescheduled to the day before the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks. Students wanted to do something to remember the tragic events. But staff intervened,” radio station KTTH reported.

“According to an email obtained by the Jason Rantz Show on KTTH, the principal said wearing those colors could ‘unintentionally cause offense to some who see it differently.’ Students are upset. And some parents now speculate school officials thought their majority-minority opponents would be offended by American pride,” the station reported.

I’m sorry, but what is the other way to see 9/11? How else are we to view terrorists who hijacked four airplanes and killed thousands of people? Is there something that I’m missing? Who are they actually worried about offending and in what sense? That’s what I’d like to know.

This is exactly one of the problems we have in this country. Cowards are afraid to stand up for anything. When you refuse to stand for something you stand for nothing and that’s how the terrorists win.

Just stop and think about it for a moment. Are we safer than we were 20 years ago? Is terror on the decline compared to 20 years ago? Quite the opposite thanks to Joe Biden giving our enemies and entire country and 85 billion dollars worth of equipment at their disposal. That’s not even all they got.

We say, “Never Forget”, but sadly, too many people have forgotten.

People need to remember September 11 because it was a tragedy that changed thousands of lives forever. September 11 is something that should be remembered by millions of Americans because people died that day in a terrible attack on our country. September 11 is a day that should bring us all together as Americans and a day that we should truly never forget.
