There was a nice little Twitter battle this week between Elon Musk and Senator Lindsey Graham.

It all started when Musk tweeted,

I still very much support Ukraine, but am convinced that massive escalation of the war will cause great harm to Ukraine and possibly the world.

Musk then proposed some terms of agreement that he thinks would aid in ending the conflict. He suggested:

– Redo elections of annexed regions under UN supervision. Russia leaves if that is will of the people.

– Crimea formally part of Russia, as it has been since 1783 (until Khrushchev’s mistake).

– Water supply to Crimea assured.

– Ukraine remains neutral.

Senator Lindsey Graham decided to respond to Musk’s suggestions by essentially telling him that he doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

With all due respect to Elon Musk – and I do respect him – I would suggest he needs to understand the facts of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Suggesting we end the Russian invasion by simply giving Russia parts of Ukraine – after all the suffering – is dumb.

It is also an affront to the bravery of the Ukrainians fighting to defend their homeland.

Sen. Graham then proceeded to actually threaten Elon Musk by suggesting that Congress might need to look at legislation that Tesla is a part of involving electric vehicle tax credits.

While we’re at it, maybe the Congress should revisit the electric vehicle tax credit boondoggle.

It is where the credit is now solely benefiting electric vehicle manufacturers who have increased prices equal to the tax credit!

See…this is just one of the problems with Congress. He’s really going to threaten to look at legislation because he’s upset by what he said? Retaliation via law is not just abuse, but tyranny.

However, it looks like Graham doesn’t even know what he’s talking about because Musk replied back to let Sen. Graham know that Tesla hasn’t had that consumer tax credit for years, and that Ford and GM asked for the recent one, not Tesla.

  • Lindsey Graham was, is and will always be a war monger. The dispute between Rusia and Ukraine should have been resolved with negotiations. Certain factions in Washington have been driving regime change around the world since George H. W. Bush. it’s way past time to remove the military/ industrial complex influence from it’s close proximity to Congress, the White House and the Pentagon. I am in full agreement with Musk and believe Graham is blatantly guilty of an abuse of power when he threatens Tesla. Graham’s behavior is comparable with Biden and Garland and is disgusting.

    • I totally agree. While Graham’s best RINO friend McCain was still alive they would together go to Ukraine and promised NATO membership which was major concern for Russia. Later incompetent illegitimate Biden and his woke staff did the same. They wanted war and regime change in Russia. That’s what started it all.

  • Biden should hold peace talks between the two. Reason why, after he is done telling them what their options are both sides will be so confused they will give up and go home.

  • Graham, McCarthy and McConnell are all trash with just as many skeletons in their closets as Biden or Clinton. They have been a noose around the Republican Party’s neck for Far To Long and need to get the boot ASAP!

  • You would suggest musk needs to understand the facts of the Russian invasion The facts of the Russian invasion??!!!….LOL……This has NOTHING to do with it!!!! This goes back centuries these people have been warring with themselves as Mongol tribes since the dark ages. Even in world war II the Ukrainian supported the Nazis They kicked the Russians out They hated them. They actually helped the Nazis kill the Jews in the Ukraine . You’re never going to stop what started because it goes back centuries and you have to understand history before you can solve the problem and most of you young NAIVE and credulous out there that write in on these columns don’t know s*** about it because you know nothing about world history. Its not your fault it is the American Education system of watered down, sugar coated history so your fragile sensibilities are not hurt or injured because history not pretty

  • First:
Russia must return the thousands of kidnapped Ukrainian children.
Russia must hang Putin and the Oligarchs.
Russia must pay for all the damage to Ukraine and help rebuild it.

Peace talks after Russia shows it want to join the human race.

    • Hmmm, and the communist from Washington State chimes in. First we need to get rid of the commies in WA and then they could be considered legitimate and lucid. Until then, we in the rest of the civilized U.S. have nothing to talk about with the PINKOs in WA.

  • “However, it looks like Graham doesn’t even know what he’s talking about because Musk replied back to let Sen. Graham know that Tesla hasn’t had that consumer tax credit for years, and that Ford and GM asked for the recent one, not Tesla.”

And this is a surprise? John McCain’s MINIME mouthing off again with nonsense is a surprise?
