Well, it looks like Joe Biden really outdid himself during a recent speech that he gave in which he addressed the cost of insulin for people who are type one diabetic.

Specifically, he focused on children who are type one diabetic who need insulin and the parents of those children who may not be able to afford the insulin required because of how expensive it is. If I didn’t know better I would think that he actually cared about Americans.

But when you dig deeper and look at not only what he was saying but some of the background information behind it you realize that once again it’s just all for show.

“Imagine being the parent making the minimum wage or twice the minimum wage and having a child with type 1 diabetes. Knowing that if you can’t…and having no insurance…knowing that if you can’t get that money for the insulin your child might die. In addition to your child, it strips you of your dignity d**nit! Can you imagine looking at your child and you know what they need and not be able to do it? Many of you have lost children. Many of you have seen…imagine. It’s outrageous. And we have an answer.”

Look, I’m going to agree 100% with him. I really do. Knowing what your child needs and not being able to provide is horrible. But the biggest problem lies in the ridiculousness of the healthcare system and charging $50 for a band-aid.

I’ve mentioned it before, but when my son was born our hospital bill was $75,000. Thankfully, I worked for a pharmaceutical company at the time and I only paid $100 of that. But that should tell you how messed up the system is. How is it that these insurance companies can work out an arrangement with hospitals in such a way as to eliminate $74,900 of a bill? They must not have really needed that much to begin with.

The other thing here which should be obvious is that Biden is being a hypocrite. When President Trump was still in the White House, he lowered the cost of insulin to make it affordable because it is a life-saving medicine. But when Joe Biden came in charge, he let that measure expire instead of renewing it.
