Tuesday, November 2, 2021, was the first election since the disputed final results were tallied in the 2020 Presidential Election. This off-year election was clearly a report card on Joe Biden’s presidency, especially the push for socialism by the radical liberals in his Democrat Party.

Early grades are in. Far-left Democrats, trying to seize control of the party, have been repudiated. Candidates, especially their un-American liberal policies, were embarrassed. The inflation-infused Joe Biden economy was on the ballot. Democrats received failing grades.

The indoctrination of our children, a systemic cancer spreading throughout our education system, was handed failing marks. However, possibly as important as any topic in this election, the safety and welfare of our nation’s crime-beleaguered cities was on the ballot.

The radical left has been screaming to defund our nation’s police departments for months. The Vice President of the United States boasted of “reimagining policing”. Minneapolis, Minnesota, has been central to this crazy push to demonize and defund law enforcement.

Two Minneapolis City Council Members, vocal advocates for defunding the Minneapolis Police Department, were ousted from their chairs. Two other defund the police council members managed to win in their districts, but in closer-than-expected final outcomes.

However, Minneapolis voters handed down an even more emphatic outcome. Overwhelming, voters hammered down a council proposal to “redefine policing”. A proposed charter amendment wanted to erase the city’s police department and replace it with a “public safety agency”.

Minneapolis’ voters spoke with the voice of their vote. They said no. Nearly 6 out of 10 Minneapolis residents resisted the “woke culture’s” insane targeting of law enforcement as bad people. In fact, the majority of Americans envision a stronger, not weaker police force.

Fox9 News reported,

Minneapolis voters struck down a proposed charter amendment that would have eliminated the city’s police department and replaced it with a public safety agency.

57 percent of voters voted “no” versus 43 percent for “yes” on a ballot question, which asked if the city charter should be amended to remove the Minneapolis Police Department and replace it with a Department of Public Safety. The proposed charter amendment would have eliminated the minimum police staffing requirement as well as the position of police chief.

The charter amendment was drafted in response to calls to defund or dismantle the police department following the murder of George Floyd in May 2020. It has received national attention and was fought in the courts. Millions of dollars were raised and spent by both supporters and opponents of the proposed charter amendment leading up to Election Day.

Minneapolitans do not want their safety and security compromised by this radical woke agenda. This result clearly shows that those who want to “reinvent how we police our cities” are the minority. The liberal leftists will try to tell you otherwise.

Supported by their kowtowing talking heads in the mainstream media, they continue to blame police officers for our problems. America’s dedicated law enforcement officers are not the problem. Liberal policies in these crime besieged cities are the problem. Minneapolis’ voters told the woke culture’s defund the police idea exactly what they thought. They shouted no.
